Pid file quit without updating fi

110621 [ERROR] Plugin ‘Inno DB’ registration as a STORAGE ENGINE failed.

After some Googling, I found out that this problem was due to the Inno DB logs.

Starting My SQL............................................................................................................... My SQL is running but PID file could not be found tail -f /var/lib/mysql/110302 [Note] /usr/sbin/mysqld: ready for connections.

Version: '5.1.55' socket: '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' port: 3306 My SQL Community Server 110305 mysqld_safe mysqld from pid file /var/lib/mysql/ended /usr/bin/mysqld_safe 120502 mysqld_safe Logging to '/var/lib/mysql/mysql-bin.err'.

Once you get the “Manager of pid-file quit without updating file” error message, head to the mysql error log.

This error log may be under your system’s log directory (/var/log/mysql) or under the mysql data folder (usually /usr/local/mysql/data). In my case the error log listed the following items: Inno DB: No valid checkpoint found.

These are My SQL error logs which will give the exact reason for My SQL failure.

This occurs when My SQL is upgraded to a later version or due to insufficient permission and ownership issue in My SQL data directory.

Inno DB: If this error appears when you are creating an Inno DB database, Inno DB: the problem may be that during an earlier attempt you managed Inno DB: to create the Inno DB data files, but log file creation failed.

Inno DB: If that is the case, please refer to Inno DB: [ERROR] Plugin ‘Inno DB’ init function returned error.
